The Allegro String Quartet is comprised of Lancaster residents Melody Cliff and Betsy Swartz (violin), Christy Kauffman (viola), and Beth Lavender (cello). These musicians have been playing as a string quartet for two years, but have performed together with Allegro for nearly twenty years! Founded on appreciation and respect for one another and the local music community, the quartet loves rehearsing and performing in a group where they can bring their full selves and musical ideas to the process. They begin each rehearsal with an eager greeting from their mascot, Finn–Beth’s dog–and are looking forward to sharing their music with you!
